Grandpa

So this past weekend we went up to Utah to be with the family. It was a great time...we hung out with both the families, friends, and was able to see my Grandpa.

For the past 7 years, my Grandpa has been sick. First he fought cancer, then, open heart surgery, numerous bouts of phenomena, and diabetes. This weekend he looked so tired and super thin. We all knew that this was probably the last time we saw him before he passed. Sure enough, my Mom called yesterday morning and I knew instantly that it he had passed. I leave in the morning to return back to Utah for his funeral.

My Grandpa was an amazing man. I was a big Papa's girl and I will miss him horribly! I'm just relieved that he is done being so sick and finally at rest. I'm so blessed that I had 26 years with him and that Kaedance knew him. This past weekend, he meet Landon and held him. He loved it! I'm so glad we were all there to see him and hug and kiss him one last time. I made sure to tell him I loved him so much and that he was able to tell me too. I truly believe he waited to see us Grandkids and his newest Great Grandsons, Landon and Drayson. How comforted I feel to know that we will be separated for a short time, but will be together again one day.

I love you Papa! I will miss you!

P.S. The Mariah Carey song is for him

Whiskey Lullaby Memory

I added this song to my play list. It reminds me of Kaedance when she was an infant. I worked and one of my dearest friends, Erin, took care of her. When i would pick her up after work and make the 45-1hour commute home depending on the lovely LV traffic, she would be so fussy. I soon realized any time this song was on the radio, she wold calm down. As soon as it was over, she was fussy again. I thought it was a total coincidence but she did it again when Troy was in the car. He insisted that buy the CD which was no biggie, since I loved and still love, Brad Paisley. Sure enough, she would stay calm the whole way home if that song was on. Needless to say, my CD player was always on repeat and I had that song memorized word for word. I guess that's why it's called "Whiskey Lullaby". To this day, Kaedance loves country music and both her and I really love listening to it together. Now I need to find one for Landon!
