Landon Turns One!

This is crazy to be posting that my baby turned one! It was his Bday on the 20th and we had a Carnival Theme Party on the 21st. We had a lot of our dear friends and family there to celebrate with him! My parents, Little Bro, Sis In Law, and nephew Drayson, came in from Utah! My Sis In Law and nephews and niece made it up from AZ, too! It was an awesome weekend full of fun, sugar, presents, and love!! Landon had a great time and was spoiled with all his gifts. Thank you to everyone that came, sent him a card, gave him a gift, and made his day so special!! We are so blessed to have amazing family and friends that love and makes it a point to celebrate these special times with us!

It was a windy day, my centerpieces I made, kept blowing over, but it was fun! I made posters for the decorations, had balloons, we played "carnival" games, had a pinata full of candy that Cora broke open :), I made cute gift boxes for the kids to take home, and enjoyed lunch of BBQ Hot Dogs ( thanks for being the chef, Mom), Chips, Cupcakes, Cotton Candy, and his Cute Cake made by my dear friend Karleena! (thanks again, Karleena for his adorable carnival cake!!) and if anyone needs a custom cake, please use her...she is amazing!!

Landon is such a joy to us! He is a total flirt with ladies, he loves to say "hi", still crawling, not yet walking, loves his sister, has a loud scream, and loves to cuddle! He is so loved and we can't imagine life without this little man! Here are some pictures of his actual Bday, the Party, and all the fun we had!!

Happy 1st Birthday Landon! We Love You!!

More Grocery Smarts...

Ok...I know I need to post on Landon's 1st Birthday, and I promise it will be the next post, but I'm so excited the deals I scored today and yesterday. I had to share! :)

First, I went to CVS ( our local pharmacy chain) (bottom pic) If you know CVS you know they have some great deals on everyday items and they have what they call Extra Care Bucks that are like free money. So here is what I bought and how the deal went down:
CVS Total :$ 61.06
Coupons and ECBs: $ $27.27
Total out of pocket: $ 36.10 (50% or so, Savings!)

Some highlights, the Easter Egg Color Kit for free, M&Ms $1 per bag, Charmin Toliet Paper $5, FREE Masacara and Makeup!! This is one of my favorite places to score amazing deals! I love it!

VONS (top pic) has yet to be on Grocery Smarts site, hopefully soon, but I notice how great their ad was for this week along with my coupons. So off we went and here is how it broke down:

VONS Total: $ 108.47
Manf. Coupons: $ 11.00
Store Savings: $42.75
Total out of pocket: $ 54.72 (50% Savings)

I'm so proud of this shopping trip! So many great deals to break it all down! I have not shopped at Vons for years, but I know I will be again after today! Again, this does take alittle planning and work, but I love to see the total drop and walk out paying half of what I would have. It's my way to stretch our money further.

Grocery Smarts Update

I've been doing Grocery Smarts for a couple months now and I can't believe how much I've been saving and all the stuff I'm stocking my food storage with. It does take a little more time than just going to one store, but, I think the payoff is worth two stops. Today, Landon and I went to Albertsons (2nd picture) and then Smith's (1st picture). Here is the breakdown from
Albertsons:
Before Store Savings & Coupons: $53.66
Store Savings: $19.32
Manufacture's Coupons:$ 4.05
Total Out of Pocket: $30.29
I've done better in the past but some highlights of this trip was B1G1Free on Chips, Apples, and Gum. The cereal ended up being $1.95/box. I think that's worth it!

Smith's:
Before Store Savings & Coupons: $83.55
Store Savings: $25.11
Manufacture's Coupons: $13.55
Total Spent: $44.92 (46% Savings) I try to shoot for 50%, but this is close and include's items for Landon's Party on Saturday!
Some Highlights was their promo of certain any 10 items get $5.00 off at checkout. Salad dressing was $.99 a bottle, Johnson's Baby Lotion $2.00, Colgate toothpaste $.75 per tube, Pasta $.99 each, Potato's $1.09 box, Asparagus $1.19lb., Bread $1.44 per loaf, and Ground Meat $2.60.
This has blessed our life's and I find it fun and very rewarding when I score big on paying out less at the grocery store. The best part is to know I've been able to start and grow my food storage.

Natural History Museum Playgroup

Last week, we went with our ward playgroup to this museum. It was fun...gave us a reason to go out and be social. I try to expose Kaedance to these things so she gets the social part and it's fun to go out and learn. Las Vegas actually has some great family/kid friendly places and things to do. I'm blessed to be in an awesome ward that puts this playgroup together. Thanks Anji!!

Kaedance liked the "little Scientist" room the best. She was not fond of the Dinosaurs or even the stuffed "dead" animals. Landon liked to be there and people watch. After, we went to lunch with some of our friends in the ward. I'm also blessed to have them in our like, Thanks Karleena, Mallory, and Hannah for a great day!
