Bouzer Boy is gone...

This afternoon, the "Bassett Lady", what Kaedie calls her, came and met with us to discuss more in person about Bouzer. After speaking with her for an hour and explaining Bouzer's history, she thinks his aggression mostly lies on the fact that when he was born, he had some "manly" issues that probably gave him an over abundance of Testosterone. Anyways, long story short, after much heart ache and a lot of nights this past week full of tears, she agreed that Bouzer is to much of a threat in our home. The "what ifs" is to much to live with and she thinks that he will do great in a home that he can be the only dog. She is going to stay in touch with us and was so awesome to explain this to us from her professional opinion and assured us that we are making the right choice even though it's so hard to do. :(

It will take some time to heal all of us, including Flash, who loved his big brother. We were all crying when he left! My hope is that who ever adopts him will love him just like we do! He will be greatly missed but I know we needed to do this for our family and his own sake. She explained it that it's not a behavior problem that could ever be fixed with training or medicine. Which made Troy and I feel better. She is going to keep in touch with me, so I will keep you all updated on him. Thanks for all your comments and support during this hard time for us.

Bouzer, We'll always love you and miss you! You are our buddy!

That is too bad. But at least you guys know it was the best thing to do for your family. That lady sounds awesome and I'm sure he will be well taken care of my his new adopted parents.

I'm so sorry you guys have had such a rough week. I hope that this trial passes soon and you're all feeling better about the decision you made. I'm sure it was the best one for your family. I hope that Bouzer gets a new family that loves him as much as you do!

Thank you! I wish we lived closer too. It would be so nice to be able to do lots of stuff with you four.

Thanks again. We are very excited. Hopefully you and Troy can celebrate in Hawaii for your 10 year anniversary. :)
Sometimes I get a little frustrated with him, and vise-a-versa, but all in all we do get a long great. Thanks for noticing.

Love you guys so much too. And miss you tons. Give the kids, Troy, and Yourself some hugs and kisses from us. ;)

Aw, Marchezt, I'm so sorry!! I teared up just reading this. =( I cant imagine how hard this is for you, but I am here for you if you need me. I had a feeling he might've been gone because I heard Flash howl a howl that I haven't heard before one day last week, kind of like he was trying to make up for Bouzer's howling! I am sure you made the right decision, even though it's so hard and so sad. Let's get together when you're ready. =)

Hey!! I keep checkin your blog anxious to hear that things are going okay and that your other dog is adjusting well. I guess I ought to call ya!

I'm sorry I wasn't there to hear your lesson on Sunday! How'd it go?! I'm sure you did amazing!! I've had a nasty cold - and Sunday was the worst day. So far everyone else seems to be fine *knock on wood* - thank goodness!! And I'm slowly doing better!

I think we'll be taking back library books tomorrow - if I'm feelin okay, I'll call ya to see if you guys wanna come! (If I feel yucky, though, we'll just be droppin the books off in the book drop.) :o)
