Part 2: Kaedie's 6th Birthday was her Party that followed that weekend. She chose to have a 'Ballet Theme' Party. I thought it'd be easy to find "ballet themed" party items and invitations. However, there are hardly any party supplies in that theme that aren't online or super expensive. Thank goodness to my Mom and BFF Meagan to help me with the invites and coming up with ideas for the party. If you know me, I love to deocrate for parties but I love doing it more, on a budget :) So I went to work in planning the party early enough to save $ and find itmes to use. Here is a run down of the day (sorry...long post)
We kept the colors and decorations simple and cost effective with Kaedie's many ballet decor items from her room, tissue paper pom poms that I made (loved them!), and pink roses. Different shades of pink were used along with white and lots of tulle. The ballerinas (guests) arrived to balloons and a TuTu wreath and 'DANCE' plaque out front (forgot pics of those :( ) We started the party off by giving the ballerinas their own tutus (again...thanks Mom) and ballet slipper necklaces. Classical music played in the background as we waited for all the guests to arrive. The ballerinas decorated their mini dance bags (doubled as their goodie bags) with cute foam dance stickers. Next, lunch was served which included lots of fruit, mini PB&J cutout sandwiches, chips, mini bagel pizzas, and pink sparkling lemonade. Dessert was a major highlight with the adorable ballet slipper cake and cupcakes topped with ediable pearls (the girls loved them) both made by one of my dearest friends, Karleena. She is so talented and her work is both yummy and amazing! After dessert, some ballerina games were played, dancing around the room, and presents were open. Once again, Kaedance was spoiled with awesome gifts from all her sweet friends and family! She loved them all! As the party came to an end, we gathered the ballerinas for story time with books about ballerinas. Before the girls left, they were given their party favors of bubbles, wand, and lip gloss. They also got to keep their tutus, ballet slipper necklaces, and mini dance bags.
I think that all the ballerinas had fun and Kaedance loved every bit of her party! I wish I had taken more pictures of her in her adorable pettiskirt that I ordered from one of my BFF's Etsy Store(Love it,Chante!),more pictures of the decor and the Prima Ballerina wirh her guests (hard to host and photographic too) Oh well! :)
It ended up being a blast and super fun to host! I loved to watch Kaedance enjoy playing with her friends and the excitment that her party brought to her that day. Thanks to everyone that attended, my parents for coming down, and all the help to pull off the party. Kaedance lights up our life and is so special to us! We love to watch her dance, love to hear her laugh, and smile as we watch her grow! Love You Kaedie Bug!
